Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding what Idioscript is, what it does, and what it does not do.

What is Idioscript?

Idioscript is a thinking environment for writers. It analyzes your writing to understand your unique voice, story world, and characters, then helps you navigate complexity while preserving what makes your work distinctly yours.

Think of it as a writing companion that learns your style, not a tool that writes for you.

Does Idioscript write my book for me?

No. Idioscript does not write autonomously. It does not generate chapters, scenes, or manuscripts on its own. Every word in your work comes from you or is explicitly requested and reviewed by you.

Our tools help you think through your story, organize your world, and maintain consistency. But the creative decisions and the writing itself remain entirely yours.

Who owns the work I create with Idioscript?

You do. Completely and unequivocally.

Idioscript makes no claim to any content you create. Your manuscripts, notes, characters, and worlds belong to you. Working with Idioscript is comparable to working with a human editor or using grammar software: the tools assist, but authorship is yours.

Is my writing used to train AI models?

No. Your manuscripts and writing samples are not used to train shared AI models. Your work is processed to understand your style and serve your projects. It does not become part of any collective training data.

How is my writing stored and protected?

Idioscript offers multiple privacy modes based on your comfort level. These include local-first workflows where your files never leave your machine, as well as encrypted cloud storage for those who want cross-device access.

You control what gets stored and what gets processed. We believe privacy is a prerequisite for creative freedom.

Can Idioscript modify my files without my knowledge?

No. Idioscript never modifies files silently. There are no background rewrites, no automatic edits, no changes made without your explicit action and approval.

Every suggestion, every change, every modification requires you to review and accept it. You remain in complete control.

How does Idioscript preserve my voice?

Rather than imposing a generic AI style, Idioscript analyzes your existing writing to understand your patterns: your sentence rhythms, word choices, pacing, tone, and narrative tendencies.

When you request assistance, the tool reflects your voice back to you, preventing AI-generated text from dominating or homogenizing your work.

What is Idioscript's position on AI and writing?

We believe AI should augment human creativity, not replace it. Writers face real challenges: maintaining consistency across long works, tracking complex character relationships, remembering world-building details, staying true to voice across drafts.

Idioscript addresses these cognitive challenges. It reduces unnecessary mental load so you can focus on meaning, craft, and the creative work that only you can do.

Who is Idioscript for?

Idioscript is for writers who want to understand and preserve their voice, not replace it. It is for novelists managing complex worlds, authors maintaining series consistency, and writers who want thoughtful assistance without sacrificing authorship.

It is not for those seeking automated content generation or ghostwriting services. If you want AI to write for you, Idioscript is not the right tool.

Can Idioscript be used for school assignments?

Idioscript is intended for original creative and professional writing. Policies on AI use vary widely by institution. If you're a student, it's your responsibility to understand what's permitted.

Idioscript does not guarantee compliance with academic integrity rules. We do not design features to bypass detection tools or conceal AI involvement in writing.

What is Idioscript's core philosophy?

Idioscript exists to reduce unnecessary cognitive load so writers can focus on what matters: meaning and craft.

We position ourselves as a thinking partner, not a replacement for human creativity. The goal is to help you be a better, more consistent, more focused version of yourself as a writer, not to become the writer for you.

Your voice. Your story. Your work. We are here to help you protect and express it.
